I hope you're right about Trout. I'd love to see the old Trout come back for a few more years, though I wonder if anyone will care if he's doing it in Anaheim.
I can’t believe the FanGraphs projection for Trout! If he does that, I think it’ll be hard to ignore him even out in Anaheim. I think he’s like that universal player everyone wants to see turn back the clock.
It would be one of the great storylines of the season. And if he could somehow manage to drag the Angels, kicking and screaming, back to at least semi-relevancy, so much the better. I saw the Angels for the first time, in 2023, Ohtani's last season, when they came to KC. They were both healthy at the time, and both of them hit dingers that day, which was really cool. Of course, the Royals were terrible that season, though they broke out the vintage powder blues that day, so that was awesome. But even so, watching Trout and Ohtani gang up on the Royals, you couldn't help but think might have been, if only they could have stayed healthy and the Angels could have built something around them. Oh well, that's in the past now, but you're right, I think anybody who loves baseball wants to see Trout find his A-game again.
Wow, what a cool experience. Throwback unis and the two 🐐s going off?!
The whole Trout-Ohtani experience will always be fascinating. Not just all the time they both missed, but the opportunity to win that never developed. It kinda blows the mind right now to think about it. Imagine 10 or 20 years from now when they are done and we can see what has unfolded.
