Novel Excerpt - "Papilio: Wings of Becoming"
The first two chapters of my novel are available to read!
Storytime!
A friend recommended The Art of Asking by Amanda Palmer. I read it, liked it, and learned a lot!
It's helped rebuild my confidence as I pivot from a corporate career into writing. It’s daunting, it’s challenging, and oh, by the way, I’m also a full-time stay-at-home dad of two kids under four 🙂
But you know what? In my short career as a writer and content creator, I’ve accomplished a lot:
I’ve interviewed All-American college and professional athletes, championship coaches, business owners, CEOs, and other executives, bands and music executives, Olympians, survivors of rape, someone who was paralyzed and learned to walk again, other career pivoters, ice cream shop owners, twins(!)—the list goes on.
I’ve written for my local news outlet, covering a championship team and regularly covering MLB for Yardbarker.
I already have an Amazon bestselling book about the Yankees and leadership.
In high school, I hit a 2-run go-ahead triple off of MLB All-Star Patrick Corbin, and I once led my Little League in home runs.
Okay, I’m getting a bit off track now...
The point is, I have a lot to offer and want to share.
So, I’m coming to you today with gratitude and, for the first time, asking for a little support.
Below is a link where you can read, for free, the first two chapters of my rock & roll novel Papilio. I’ve been working hard on this and feel confident that the version I have now could catch the eye of an agent and a publisher.
YOU have the chance to read it right now, for free!
But I’m also making an ask:
If you find value in my work and would like to tip me, I’m sharing my Venmo and Cash App names below. You don’t have to, and I’d love for you to read it either way. But I’d be super grateful if you do choose to tip. I’m not a starving artist, but it takes vulnerability to put this kind of work out, so I think it’s fair to ask—just like a performer on the street with a hat beside them.
For this rollout, you’ll also see a cool little AI image I created depicting the main character and the theme of the story. I just learned how to do this four days ago, so it’s very amateur, but I hope you like it!
Thank you, thank you, thank you for always supporting my work, my crazy ideas, and my passions. It means the world to me!
