KC Royals face uphill battle in race for MLB Playoffs
The Royals are locked in a daunting fight for an American League Wild Card spot.
Hi, everyone!
Merry Weekend Eve!
We’ve got a fun weekend ahead. Stella has a soccer game tomorrow, and my parents are coming into town for it. Then we’ll watch Penn State football and just hang out. On Sunday, the girls are going to Bluey’s Big Play. Woo!
This morning, I checked the MLB standings and saw that the Tigers have tied with the Twins for the third and final wild-card spot.
The Royals’ lead over both teams is down to just two games.
With only ten days left in the season, the Royals’ magic number to clinch a postseason spot is nine. FanGraphs still gives them a 90% chance of making the playoffs.
But things are a bit more uncertain than anyone—fans or the team—would like.
In my latest column for Fansided, I break down the rest of the season’s schedule, discuss what’s been going wrong, and highlight who's been hot (hint: he's an MVP candidate).
I still think the Royals will make the postseason, but anything can happen in these next ten days!
Share this with your fellow Royal fans — even if they are a bit on edge.
Thank you!
